Case study 04 · Communications
One API and agent strategy for a global platform
The challenge
A market-leading global communications platform had grown through acquisitions. The result was a fragmented API estate: several authentication schemes, inconsistent resource models, slow provisioning and little that AI agents could discover or use. Competitors reached a first working message in minutes. Its developers took hours.
Our approach
We led the API and agent architecture workstream: a layered target architecture, a consolidation plan, API standards designed for both developers and AI agents, and a roadmap with clear milestones.
We validated the strategy hands-on, including head-to-head assessments against leading competitors, and then built the strategy’s core use cases as live demo applications for the company’s global sales kickoff.
Where our experience mattered
- Led the API and agent architecture across product teams
- Defined standards, a consolidation plan and a roadmap
- Validated the strategy hands-on against leading competitors
- Built working demos that brought the strategy to life
Outcome
A unified API and agent strategy, proven with live demos at the company’s global sales kickoff.
